Do I Have to Be Fit to Take the Class?

You do not need to be particularly “fit” to take my beginner class.

You will sweat, and you may discover muscles you never knew you had, but we’ll work up to it. I plan the class session carefully so you can build the strength and endurance you need over time.

My goal is to keep you in safely in the “doable challenge” zone, where you’re both learning and having fun. So I will push your limits, but always gently. I’ll encourage you to work hard, but if you’re having a rough day and need to take it easy, that’s okay too.

That said, if you’ve been completely sedentary, you should check with your doctor before you begin *any* program of physical activity (not just my class), so they can advise you on how best to get started.

And regardless of your current fitness level, you should always respect your limits: take a break whenever you need to, inform me of any injuries or physical limitations, and if something feels wrong, stop right away and let me know.
